We are a family business since 1905 - tradition is capitalized here.
Our inn has existed since 1870 and was initially run by Ferdinand Prelle.
In 1905, Johann Benecke acquired the building and continued to run it as a tavern, grocery store and agricultural business.
From 1948 Heinrich Benecke takes over the tavern, the hall business and food retail trade in the 2nd generation.
With Walter Benecke, the tavern is transformed into a restaurant with dining room and food retail from 1981 on.
Since 1999 we have specialized in company as well as private celebrations of different occasions - whether weddings, birthdays or anniversaries.
In this sense, Johann Benecke has continued the family tradition in the 4th generation since 2015.

Welcome to the website of our family-run hotel "Zur Erholung", built in 2020.
While our restaurant "Gasthaus zur Erholung" has been in the family since 1905, the great-grandson of the former founder, Johann Benecke, has now been able to fulfill a long-cherished dream and fully live up to the name "Gasthaus":
our hotel offers 9 guest rooms, which through simple elegance and modern comfort offer our guests more than just a place to stay.
