Alfonsina Falcone, the chef and owner of 'La Civetta' is well known and appreciated in the world of old-fashioned, family-style cooking. In 1987, she began her adventure as chef and manager in the establishment built on a hilltop in the most unusual place in Agropoli.
Alfonsina enthusiastically learned the art of seafood cooking from her mother-in-law, the daughter of fishermen, and the more traditional one from her aunt Rosa, who grew up in the world of the Abbots. As happens, for all those who know how to seize the moment of good fortune, Alfonsina met in the Vallo di Diano, Alfonso Benincasa, a famous and international master of creative cuisine, distinguished with a gold medal in Erba, in Stuttgart, at the prestigious Culinary World Cup and with a silver medal in Salzburg. Alfonso Benincasa passed on to her the secrets of making the table a place of joy and pleasure.
Mrs Falcone was the first to establish the family business and give it its own special characteristic that has made it famous for over 30 years.
In 2008, the hospitality of 'La Civetta' found new expression with the inauguration of five rooms in which to spend medium-short stays. The precious hospitality of Alfonsina and her children make this place an excellent starting point for visiting the Cilento region
